From a life dedicated to the study of fish and fishing, with a focus on trout and salmon, Robin has developed a keen and accurate eye for detail and produces some of, if not the, most technically accurate reproductions of these fish. 

He works mainly in water colour, but has also worked with wood, sculpting in various materials and other mediums.  Scottish maps of various areas are a speciality of his, including many maps of rivers and historical maps. 

Robin also has a lot of experience in creating maps, from historical to cultural, and his maps always have a balance and aesthetic value that only an artist can achieve.   Posters depicting sites of natural or scientific interest are another of Robin Ade's specialities.  He has worked with various historical, cultural and scientific bodies in the UK, US and Canada, producing a wide range of work.
